Things I'm building

I'm Tim, a software engineer in London. I build tools for AI agents, research experiments on how language models behave, and the occasional synth module. These are write-ups of projects once they're done.

  1. Rewire Bio: which biological model should you use?

A benchmark database, open benchmarks and articles on machine learning in genomics, proteins and drug discovery, all linked to their evidence.

  2. Agentic Verification: checking whether tests would catch a bug

A Claude Code plugin that audits a pytest suite for untested behaviour, flaky tests and misleading coverage, with a pre-registered study behind it.

  3. Software patterns from biology

A catalogue of eight biological coordination mechanisms translated into software patterns, each with citations, diagrams and runnable Python.

  4. Genomics MCP: real genomic data for AI agents, with sources

An MCP server that lets an agent find public genomic datasets, read a bounded region of a file without downloading it, and look up variants and genes, recording where every value came from.

  5. Wiggle Room: 45 modules for VCV Rack

A collection of physical-modelling synths, effects, sequencers and utilities for the VCV Rack modular synth, mostly built with Faust.

  6. drill-me: a Claude Code tutor that quizzes you

A plugin that turns Claude into a tutor with spaced repetition and a memory of what you got wrong. Version 1.0.1 is out.

  7. Cognitive Atlas: the map inside a language model's distance estimates

I asked a model for the distance between every pair of 100 capitals, in three languages, and rebuilt the world map its answers imply.
