Wiggle Room: 45 modules for VCV Rack
A collection of physical-modelling synths, effects, sequencers and utilities for the VCV Rack modular synth, mostly built with Faust.
Wiggle Room is a set of modules for VCV Rack 2, the free virtual modular synthesiser. Most of the sound-generating modules use Faust for physical modelling DSP. The current release is 2.1.3 and has 45 modules.
Some highlights
Physical models. SpaceCello is a digital version of the Yaybahar, a bowed string coupled to spring reverbs. TheAbyss is based on the waterphone. Matter models a struck solid inside a resonant tube and morphs from strings to bells. There are also a plucked string, a struck bar, a shaker, a flute and a vocal choir.
Acid. ACID9Voice is a TB-303 inspired voice with a morphing oscillator, and ACID9Seq is its companion sequencer.
Rhythm. EucSeq is a four-channel Euclidean sequencer that chains into Logic Mangler (a truth-table logic processor), EucMix and EucBank for pattern storage. There are two and three channel versions of the chain for smaller patches. Cycloid is a polar Euclidean sequencer and GravityClock generates triggers from a bouncing ball.
Effects and utilities. A Zita reverb, a tape echo, a wavefolder, a ladder filter, a BBD string ensemble, an 8-channel LFO and a quantiser and chord machine. PixelProbe samples colours from an image using X/Y CV and outputs hue, saturation and intensity.
